ID Hospital SMAS lift VS other clinic's lifting: why SMAS lift is better?

When people are middle-aged, they get concerned about their wrinkles. Nasolabial and other facial wrinkles definitely make one look older and cause insecurities and even depression. The best example of solution among various lifting methods for middle-aged people is face lifting. Face lifting is a procedure that pulls and fixes the sagging skin through the incision on the hairline. A patient can expect a dramatic wrinkles improvement, restored V line facial shape and skin lifting from the neck to the eyes.
However, face lifting recovery includes not very aesthetically pleasing side effects like scarring from incision, swelling, bruising and etc. The right surgical method can minimize these factors.
ID Hospital offers a Non-incision SMAS lift for this case.

Unlike the general facelift, ID Hospital Non-incision SMAS lift is a special surgical technique with a 1 centimeter incision on the hairline. Since the incision is small and enough to attach the surgical site to the band, a patient can use shampoo, do make up and come back to the daily life on the next day after the surgery.
In addition, there is no swelling or bruises, so the patient won’t need a long time off for recovery. The effect is seen on the next day after the surgery, so this procedure is especially popular among office workers or elderly people whose main concern is wrinkles.
Non-incision SMAS Lift fixes each soft tissue layer (skin layer, fat layer, muscle layer), including the skin layer that causes sagging skin. SMAS lift effectively pulls the sagging jawline skin up for a V-line lifting effect, but there are less side effects and recovery time comparing to the alternative lifting procedures.
Moreover, face lift recovery period and the incision site is different, so the surgeon needs to take into consideration patient's skin condition, skin type, etc. A surgeon with a rich clinical experience should operate in a place equipped with up-to-date medical equipment.

ID Hospital Review: Kitiana Interview

Kitiana from Boston, USA, visited ID hospital to get surgery. She is one of the winners of ID Model 2019.
She had her surgeries on April 15th and after, we had a chance to interview her about her experiences here. She was able to answer some questions from our followers about her surgery experience and also gave some tips for anyone planning to get surgery at ID Hospital Korea!

ID Hospital: What surgeries did you have?
Kitiana: I had v-line, forehead reduction and face lift

ID Hospital: Why did you choose ID hospital?
Kitiana: I chose id hospital because they are the most well-known, and I’ve seen them the most growing up even before I decided to have any surgeries.

ID Hospital: Did your friends/family notice your changes?
Kitiana: Yes, they told me that they see a difference but in a very natural way. They liked how my main features still were there, just more enhanced. They were all excited about the results just like me.

ID Hospital: Do you think having those four surgeries at once was too much? Was the pain bearable?
Kitianaa: No I don’t think so. The pain was bearable. The first couple hours after the surgery, you are in pain however after that it is bearable. I had pain killers prescribed so I didn’t really feel much pain on wards. It’s just mainly discomfort from swelling.

ID Hospital: Is it hard to recognize yourself in the mirror?
Kitiana: No I think they did a good job with keeping the features that make you, you. Without changing so much to the point that you can’t recognize yourself.

ID Hospital: How was your healing process? Did you have any challenges?
Kitiana: I came to Korea by myself, because no one could take the time off work to come with me. I will have to say that I recommend bringing someone with you along so you aren’t alone. But if you do end up coming alone, it is still bearable. The first 3 days after surgery I would say is the most difficult. However, the hospital staff really took good care of me. After the surgery, I felt very nauseated because of the anesthesia, but when I informed the staff, they allowed me to stay another night at the hospital and showed me ways to get rid of the nauseated feeling such as teaching me breathing exercise. The first week was difficult because I couldn’t really eat normal food; I mainly just had porridge and juice.
ID Hospital: Do you have any regrets?
Kitiana: No. Even though coming and being here alone was hard, I’m actually glad I did it because I think it’s good to have that sense of soul searching and have that independence of doing something I’ve always wanted to do. I have no regrets and I’m very happy with everything.

How do you feel after having all the surgeries? Are you satisfied with the results?
Kitiana: I am more than satisfied. The way they did the surgery was very tasteful. I got just the right amount of feminine touch that I needed. I really love it.
Do you look like what you had imagined you’d look like after the surgery?
Kitiana: The first three days NO! HAHA I looked like a chipmunk. But once the swelling started to go down I started seeing the results and even till now I can see more changes day by day!

Steps to follow for a faster recovery post-surgery!

Patients’ main concern about having surgery is the recovery time. Individual have to go back to work or school, and want to look as normal as possible when resuming their normal routine.

Bruising and swelling post-surgery is inevitable, and the level of swelling differs from person to person. There is no way to know in advance, how your body will react to surgery (unless you have previous surgery experience) but it is not a reason to shy away from having surgery! We have a few pointers you can follow below to ensure, you have the fastest recover possible!

1.  Follow Post-surgery instructions: Patients receive post-surgery care instructions before getting discharged, so make sure to take a look at it and ask any questions before leaving. You can also request for the post-operation manual from the online consultant, if you want to know in advance what to anticipate.

2.   The sleeping position is very important, and the instructions should be followed for safety reasons and this will also help reduce the swelling.

3.   Follow the instructions for using the ice/hot packs, as these will help alleviate swelling faster.

4.   The sooner you can, it is advisable to take light walks to help reduce swelling. This is one of the fastest methods, but do not overdo it, light walking only.

5.   Sauna/steam room, exercise should be avoided for a month after surgery, in some cases longer. Smoking and alcohol should also be avoided, as they can impact the recovery time and can also lead to an infection.

6.   Certain foods help patients heal faster. Chewing may be difficult after some surgeries so liquid/soft foods are advised for few days after surgery. In Korea, pumpkin juice and soup/porridge are said to help reduce swelling but patients can also have liquids like protein shakes, fresh fruits and fruit juices, and transition to soft foods as time goes by.

7.   ID Hospital offers patients post-operative care treatments to heal the swelling reduce, which are very helpful for patients. In addition, patients may also choose to purchase from a range of ID AZ products designed by ID Hospital to help patients heal faster.

On the whole, surgery may be daunting for some, but with ID Hospital, one can rest assure that they will receive all the necessary care throughout the surgery journey.

Purpose of Online Consultation

ID Hospital offers online consultation through different channels like email, Whatsapp, line, kakaotalk, posting on the website etc., to assist the patient to get an idea about the type of surgeries they require with estimated price quotes.

Things patients have to keep in mind about online consultation:

1.     The online consultation offer surgery recommendations based on photos sent to the consultant, but the doctor’s recommendation may differ at the actual consultation appointment. If the recommendation differs, the price also differs, so patients should keep that in mind when doing the online consultation.

2.     The price quotes given are the starting point (basic) but if the patient requires a more complicated surgery process, the surgery price will increase, so that is something to keep in mind, especially if the patient has had an accident and is having a reconstructive surgery.

3.     Revision surgery: online consultation for revision surgeries is very limited, due to the patient already having surgery performed on that area, through pictures or X-ray, surgery possibility cannot be confirmed. A face to face consultation is required.

4.     The recovery time for various surgeries differ, so if you decide to have different surgeries from the ones initially recommended, make sure to let the online consultant know. For example, forehead implant surgery requires 1 week for the implant to be customized, so surgery is done one week after consultation, so the patient has to stay for 2 weeks in Korea, but if doing other surgeries like V-line surgery, then the total duration of stay will increase to 3 weeks.

5.     Potential patients have to make sure to disclose their medical history details and allergies before making a surgery booking. If a patient leaves out important information during the online consultation, and during the pre-examinations, the hospital finds out they have a medical condition that prevents them from having surgery, surgery will be cancelled and deposit will not be refunded. So please always mention all details related to medical history and allergies.

Do feel free to contact us on any of our contact details below for a free online consultation~~

Are you concerned about skin aging? Ulthera is the solution for you! - saggy skin, wrinkles, face lift, anti aging, de aging, dermatology, laser treatment, korean plastic surgery

Women’s worries about their skin are endless.

Even people with clear skin stress over wrinkles, skin tone, dullness and other problems in their eyes.

In particular, skin aging is one of the most common dilemmas many women face.

No matter how tight and clean skin may be, nothing can stop the power of time.

Before you know it, skin becomes wrinkly and starts to sag.

Furthermore, skin tones and unpleasant textures can become such an embarrassing weakness that women may avoid looking in the mirror.

*In these cases, women often ask dermatologist and professionals for advice on recovering the youthfulness and beauty of their skin.

Dermatologist Dr. Min Ju, Kim (ID Hospital) says “In order to prevent skin aging, it is necessary to regularly apply sunscreen and skin oils, as well as try to develop proper habits.

“However if skin aging has already progressed to a certain extent or wrinkles are deep, having a professional check the skin condition and finding an effective and appropriate procedure would be the best option”.

The most effective lifting laser in the market is Ulthera; FDA approved, highly safe, and has high-intensity integrated ultrasound. It reaches the fascia layer (SMAS) to regenerate and promote collagen so that tightening and lifting effects can be seen.

Ulthera can constantly adjust the strength, depth and direction of the heat to the area where lifting is necessary, allowing it to accurately transmit the effective amount of energy to the required area.

However it is necessary to confirm whether the laser tip being used in the procedure is authentic and can effectively deliver the proper amount of energy to the targeted layer (SMAS) during the procedure.

Recently, there have been patients who seek these excellent benefits from Ulthera but are left suffering from a range of side-effects due to the use of illegal and imitation laser tips.

In order to prevent this, it is important to confirm that the hospital or clinic is recognized as safe and reliable by the government and Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Dr. Kim says “In order to find a highly recommend or reputable dermatologist, it is crucial to consider the techniques, satisfaction rate and results of skin lifting procedures. It is best to first consult with a dermatologist follows appropriate methods and standards of Ulthera.

Targeting overseas market is the solution for Korean plastic surgery overheat - no tie two jaw surgery, v line, t osteotomy, facial contouring, rhinoplasty

"We are planning to establish a local hospital in cooperation with China's largest electronics distributor. This year will be the first year to spread the beauty capability of Id Hospital to the world."

Park Sang-Hoon, a director of the hospital, said he would concentrate on informing the world about K-beauty. The plan is to strengthen the service for foreign patients who are flocking to Korea, and also to promote localization strategies.

Dr. Park said, "The interest in beauty has grown not only in Korea but also in China and other parts of the world. We will send local medical staff to China, Thailand and Japan to inform K-Beauty as well as foreign patients coming to Korea for surgery.

Park Sang-Hoon plastic surgery clinic was the matrix of Id Hospital which was established in 2000. Id Hospital is the only plastic surgery hospital that was certified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. At the time of opening, they started with 1 doctor and 3 nurses but now there are 26 specialists and over 300 staffs including nurses and staffs, so it became the largest-sized plastic surgery hospital in Korea.

Dr. Park said that expertise of ‘facial bone’, differentiation, and patient care philosophy are the keys for growth of Id Hospital. Id Hospital is one of the few plastic surgery hospitals specializing facial bone surgeries, including orthognathic surgery.

He said that orthognathic surgery fixes upper and lower jaws so it causes inconvenience of
breathing and doing daily activities. To solve these problems,
he developed ‘No-tie orthognathic surgery’ that is not needed of tying jaws.
He also developed T osteotomy for square jaw surgery that used to cut side jaw only.
And he said “"Focusing on patient-centered thinking and the development of
new technologies are what we have achieved today."

The name of new building of Id Hospital is ‘Asian Beauty Center (ABC). It contains Id’s strong will which is becoming a representative plastic surgery hospital in Asia. Id Hospital’s safety and reliability are verified by a certification of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Dr. Park said that although all plastic surgery hospitals emphasize safety and global services, there is no hospital that was strictly verified. So it is meaningful that Id Hospital was certified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare because it suggested the way to go for Korean plastic surgery.

By 2015, Korea's beauty market was worth 9 trillion 35.5 billion won,
about to reach 10 trillion won soon. The number of foreign patients coming to Korea
for plastic surgery increases by more than 20% every year. Seven out of ten patients are
Chinese.

40% of Id Hospital patients are foreigners. Id Hospital named their new building as Asian Beauty Center and they also expanded the number of medical staffs and coordinators for foreign patients only. There are coordinators in Id Hospital for patients who are from Mongolia, UAE, Vietnam, Japan, China, Thailand, and USA. They resolve the inconveniences such as language, transportation, and accommodation through self-investment and also external cooperation. For Arabic patients, they provide prayer room so they considered cultural differences.

According to Dr. Park, the biggest discomfort of foreign patients going through is language and accommodation. So Id Hospital provides limousine service and also the best accommodation service through affiliated hotel which is located right next to the hospital.

A small plastic surgery clinic has become the largest-sized hospital now but there is also a concern following. As the plastic surgery market has been overheated, competition among hospitals is cutthroat.

Dr. Park turned his eyes to overseas. Id Hospital made a partnership with Suning, the largest home application distributor in China. He plans to open a number of local hospitals this year and provide medical services. It would introduce Korean plastic surgery capability and help for inflow of patients to Korea.

He also said that he will establish a hospital in China and try to build up the name of Asian Beauty Center throughout Asia. As their medical services are in compliance with international standards, localization strategies will be successful
