Recently we had a patient from Japan who visited ID Hospital for a new look to gain more confidence in herself. Her plastic surgery transformation has been a hot topic for many people so we decided to have an interview with the lovely Azusa.

ID Hospital: What features were you most insecure about?
Azusa: I have a few features I don’t like in my face. I dislike my asymmetrical face, harsh eye shape, and my round and blunt nose shape

ID Hospital: Why did you choose ID hospital?
Azusa: ID hospital is also very well-known in Japan. I flew to Korea for a solution to my insecurities which was ID hospital. I've been really excited for my plastic surgery transformation for a very long time. 

ID Hospital: What surgeries did you have?
Azusa: I had multiple different surgeries performed by four different Doctors. V-line surgery and cheekbone reduction by Dr. Jihyuk Lee, eye surgery by Dr. Inseok Hwang, nose surgery by Dr. Jaeho Choi, face lifting and fat grafting by Dr. Seougil Oh.

ID Hospital: How was your recovery?
Azusa: One the first week after surgery, I had a lot of swelling and bruising, especially on my chin and nose. It was difficult and uncomfortable but I was still able to tell that my facial shape and nose has slimmed down a lot compared to before. It was a really exciting moment when I realized that and made all the discomfort worth dealing with!

ID Hospital: How has the surgery changed your daily life in a positive way?
Azusa: One thing I really enjoy now is putting on makeup and getting ready for the day or to go out. Before the surgery, this process was quite depressing for me because of all the imperfections I had. Applying makeup now is a very fun process for me, and I can also pull off any outfit I wear! The self-confidence I needed has definitely boosted and thanks to that, my personality has also brightened up more.

ID Hospital: Has the people around you notice your changes?
Azusa: Yes definitely! I have been receiving so many compliments on how natural my results are and how pretty I look. I’ve also been going out more often with no makeup! I’ve been recommending ID to many people who have asking me.

How to look younger with under eye surgeries

The under eye area is one of the key indicators of aging.   

As you get older, the collagen production reduces, the skin thins or sags and eye bags start to show. 

Contrary to popular belief, there is no one surgery that will suit everyone.   

Depending on the actual symptoms, skin elasticity, fat, and collagen, the recommended surgery will differ.

To give you a better idea of each surgery’s function, let’s look at four different cases that deal with the under eye area.

All the below surgeries require a week’s stay in Korea (post-surgery). 

Major swelling and bruising take 1-2 weeks and minor swelling takes 3-6 months.  

Under eye fat graft

  A fat graft is a procedure by which fat is extracted from the abdomen or thigh area, and used to add volume to areas of the face.   

This surgery benefits anyone who has hollow under eye area. The fat is used to fill out the sunken areas and this, in turn, will make anyone look younger.  

Under eye fat repositioning

For this type of case, the inner parts of the under eye area appears to be hollow yet there are visible under eye bags. 

An under eye fat repositioning surgery takes the fat from the under eye fat pockets and repositions the fat evenly under the eye, and smoothens out the under eye area.  

Under eye bag removal

For this type of case, the under eye bags are prominent, yet there is no visible sunken area under the eyes. 

The fat deposits under the eye can be removed to make the under eye area smooth.  

Lower blepharoplasty

  This surgery is for anyone in their 40s or 50s. The under eye bags are very visible and there is considerable saggy in the under eye area.

An incision is made in the lower part of the eye, excess fat and skin are removed and the skin is lifted to make the under eye area smooth.

What is fat graft? 

Any area with excess fat tissue, such as thigh or abdominal region, will be removed, isolated, and centrifuged. 
The processed fat tissue will then be administered to the area of interest via injection. Since the fat tissue comes from your own body, your body will not recognize the fat tissue as foreign materials which may cause immune responses. 
Once the fat tissue is injected, it can provide more than enough resilience, volume, and younger looking expression to the overall face structure.









Fat graft process

1. After a careful consultation, the area of interest will be examined and determine whether the Transfer is possible. 

2. After sleeping local anesthetic, the area to extract fat is sterilized and the fat is pulled out from the thigh or abdomen 
---using a thin catheter. Abundant amount of fat is extracted and stored to fill in once or twice. 

3. The isolated fat tissue will be subjected to centrifugation and only the pure fat tissue will be separated and used.

4. Various sizes of vessels will be used to transfer the precise amount of centrifuged fat into the area of interests to correct 
---the facial structure

5. After the fat graft, the remaining will be stored for further use.

6. The recovery rate will vary among patients. However, it is recommended that the patients should avoid any type of contacts 
---that may provide pressure to the areas that are swollen and have bruises for the first two weeks.
