Happy Pepero Day in Korea!! (Chocolate giving day!)

A day to exchange chocolate-covered goodies !

Did you know that on top of Valentines Day and White Day, Korea has ONE MORE holiday for giving sweets to your loved ones? Pepero Day 빼빼로데이~ a holiday made for giving chocolate covered Pepero snacks (similar to Pocky sticks) every year on the 11th of November! Why the date? Well, because it resembles the stick biscuit treat, of course! 😝

The holiday is mainly for couples and students to exchange beautiful, cute Pepero-themed gifts or hand out small treats to friends at school. Sweet idea (literally), right? and it's not painful on the wallet too since most boxes will range at about 1 USD. Students can often buy one box and split it up into several packets for mini gifts between friends, or you can also buy very extravagant Pepero gifts that cost up to 20 or even 50 USD.

Originally, Pepero Day started back in the early 90s when two female students exchanged Peperos as a gift with the wish to become "as tall and skinny as a Pepero sticks" haha that definitely sounds Korean alright.

Nonetheless, regardless of how it started, Lotte makes almost 50% of their Pepero business sales in thanks to this holiday and, more importantly, people are well content with this cute tradition ☺️☺️🍫🍭🍫
