 Hello, I’ve decided to undergo rhinoplasty to correct my crooked and humped nose.

I’m so looking forward to the surgery date! Since normally I don’t take much of selfies, I gurantee that these photos will be so realistic without any tricks involved. Lol I don’t want to fake anyone, I just want to show my real progress and results to everyone.

I was asleep during the surgery, it’s quite amazing. If I lie down doing nothing after being injected, my eyes automatically closed. When I wake up, everything is finished!

I quickly returned home while I still had some drowsy feelings. There was no pain, I was just a bit dizzy. But one hour later, those feeling disappeared suddenly. J

I was not supposed to be get water on my face, so I just went back to sleep.

1 week after surgery

 

Even my eyes were swollen for a week. I’ve seen other patients who had more swelling than me, I think mine is not too bad.

I’ve been cleaning inside of my nose 3 times a day since the date of surgery.

I felt so happy after removing taping and stitches!

My friends say my nose looks so natural and makes me more sophisticated. It’s been only one week, can you believe it?? Thank you so much, doctor J

2 weeks after the surgery

 

 

 

Before I had surgery, I really didn’t like taking photos from the side. I couldn’t imagine I could look so different by only having my nose done! Everyone’s asking if I actually had only nose surgery.  Actually I wanted to have other surgeries together but couldn’t afford it.. lol

Before the surgery, when I smile, my nose looked more crooked. Now I don’t need to worry about that! Because of swelling, I still feel a bit uncomfortable though.

As you can probably see, I didn’t have my nose bridge higher or bigger, only removed humped part. I only used nasal cartilage to make pointy tip without using any implant.

Some people think I would’ve been better if I made my nose tip higher, but I wanted natural result. I’m really happy about my decision.

With the introduction and demand for increasingly complex surgeries on the rise, nose and eye surgery is viewed as a more simple procedure that is often done together. However, both procedures are also ones that have a higher likelihood of revision surgery.

 

Some patients come away from surgery with higher nose bridge, but because it’s too tall and straight without any curves, the implant can be easily noticed by public. There is even new term ‘chalk-nose’ to describe this type of unnatural nose.

 

ID hospital’s board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Il Hwan Kim says, “It may not be distinctive from the outside, but in fact each individual’s nose shape varies greatly from inside, for example, by having a bridge that protrudes slightly. If the surgeon does not consider these differences and utilizes the same implant on all patients, both the aesthetical surgical outcome and the patient’s satisfaction level will be terrible.”

 

“If the same silicone model is being inserted, there is a higher chance that the implant will not be properly fixed inside the nose. In addition, silicone implants can move when touched or aggravated, causing unwanted side effects such as a deviated nose.

To combat and improve upon the above issues, ID hospital recently introduced “carving nose surgery” using an individually customized ‘carving implant’

For each patient’s case, soft, not hard, silicone is used to create the implant, a high degree of skill from a specialized doctor is essential since this procedure requires very delicate workmanship.

 

A carved implant that has been created in this manner, is much more softer than existing implants, thus you can even make a pig’s nose easily. The implant will be tightly fixed, leaving no possibility for mobility inside the nose.

 

The surgery is a short 30 minutes, because it requires only the implant to inserted on the bridge of the nose without using any ear cartilage or nasal septum as it customary in rhinoplasty procedures. Recovery is also faster than normal rhinoplasty and patients can go back to their daily life within one week.

 

Dr.Kim states “Our carving nose surgery is highly recommended for patients who have a flat and low bridge or slightly arrow shaped nasal dorsum and desire tall and beautiful bridge. Advantage of Mini rhinoplasty

The nose is located at the highest position on the face, followed by forehead, chin and cheekbones. Because the nose is  in the middle of the face, it has a great role in deciding one's impression. 

For example, the one who has a flat nose appears have a wide face with his or her cheekbones protruding out.

On the contrary, those who have high noses seem to have relatively small faces because eyes of others are likely to be concentrated on the nose. It is of course when the nose is in good harmony with other facial parts. 

If you are not satisfied with your flat nose, you can have rhinoplasty to augment the height of your nose. Through a nose surgery, your face will look smaller and more defined. If you are afraid of having plastic surgery even though you are concerned with your low nose, there is a simple surgery.

 'Mini rhinoplasty ' simply and quickly makes the nose high by using an artificiality implant, like silicone. Since it only raise the height of the nasal dorsum or bridge, a natural nose-line can be achieved. 

Also, the operation time takes about only 30 minutes, compared to the operation time for general nose surgeries, which normally takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours. As you can tell, the operation time is dramatically shortened.

 Mini nose surgery does not leave a scar because it is performed through closed method. Moreover, Mini rhinoplasty is economic because it is relatively cheaper than regular rhinoplasty.
