 The topic for Let Me In season 5 was ‘A Tacitum Lady’. The applicant applied for Let Me In because of her nasty smell by suffering from gingivitis for 5 years. She became a mother of two children at young age, 24 and her 4 year old daughter always said to her “Mommy, you are smelly”. She used to finish the whole bottle of mouthwash in four days to get rid of the smell but it only worsened her conditions.

The young mother also didn’t know how to take care or love her babies because she does not have any experiences of being loved by her parents as they divorced when she was only two. Her in-laws were not well enough to support her family either and she had no idea of parenting. So the title of ‘mother’ came as a massive burden on her shoulders. Her husband was the first person who taught her love and the only man who made her feel being loved. She met him at the age of 19 at work and soon they lived together. Few moths later she became a pregnant but her husband had to leave to take his compulsory military services for about two years.

However, when he got back from the military services, he had to go out for work all the time for living and as the young mother’s smell got worse; the quarrels between them became very frequent. During the quarrels he did not hesitate to insult his wife, by saying “You smell disgusting, the whole house smells because of you”. They both didn’t have much knowledge of parenting so they didn’t even argued while having their babies in their arms. The young mother fed hot food to her child straight away without cooling it and if the baby cries, she scold her baby and forced her to swallow the food. All these situations were made not because she doesn’t love her children but because she knew too little about parenting.

Luckily, the young mother was selected to be the protagonist of Let Me In season 5. She went through several examinations and surgeries, such as for her gingivitis, protruded mouth, malocclusion tooth, physical imbalance and face asymmetry.

The production crew of Let Me In also provided a parenting education program for the young parent, deciding they need an immediate improvement in taking care of their kids. Throughout the program they learned what was wrong and accepted they needed more conversations whilst understanding each others. Also the husband deeply repented for his past attitude toward his wife and apologized her with tears while talking on the phone, after his wife’s 10 hours surgery.

After 11 days of the surgery, as there were no one who could take care of children, she couldn’t stay at the dorm but came home instead. The production crew also made a connection with a child consultant for her so that she can have parenting lessons. And consequently, her children’s attitudes and behaviors became unbelievably brightened.

So the ‘Smelly young mother’ made a miracle of 85 days and also got matured as a mother. When she asks her children “Where is mommy’s prettiest place?”, they say “Mouth”. Maybe they remember the lump their mother had inside her mouth. Overall, there was a big change for the young mother’s family and like her changed appearance, now everyone wishes her eternal beauty and happiness.
