[ID Hospital Korea] Any Angle Okay With Facial Contouring Surgery at ID!

Before Surgery:

Last spring I had zygoma reduction surgery and V line surgery. It’s already been a year! When I had my consultation prior to surgery, I told the doctor about what facial complexes I had and said that I wanted the smallest and most slim face shape possible. The doctor informed me that my frontal cheekbones protruded slightly so trimming the cheekbone and performing a T-osteotomy on my chin would give me the desired V-line shape I wanted as well as give me smooth jawline contour. These are my photos prior to surgery.

Prior to surgery, I would always try and find the best angle to take photos but no matter how I tried, I couldn’t hide my prominent cheekbones. Prior to surgery these are the photos I liked the most but looking at them now there is such a big difference. I still remember being at home a week after surgery, using ice-packs to try and reduce swelling and attempting to exercise using resistance bands. At that time, I could only open my mouth a little bit and because of the stitches in my mouth I couldn’t brush my teeth well and could only soft foods like porridge.

I was able to take some time off of work so I had plenty of rest at home in between taking trips to the hospital for after-care, taking long walks to get some exercise and meeting with friends. Thinking back on that time I think I only had a difficult time the first week or so after surgery. About one month after surgery, I went back to work and in the business of daily life, the swelling went away really fast!

3-5 Months After Surgery:

At this time I still had long hair. There was still about 50% swelling left. 5-6 months after surgery, there would still be times where I would wake up and feel tightness in my face. The below pictures are recent.

1 Year After Surgery:

Comparing my pictures from before and after surgery they are so different! My strong and aggressive image is much softer >< Before surgery, I was limited to certain hairstyles because I was afraid that my face would stand out but now I can try so many different styles, including the bob I have not ^^ Now when I look at past photos it feels strange and my face now feels like it’s always been my face. My older sister got married last year (before my surgery) and whenever I look at our family picture from that time I always wish she got married just a little bit later ㅜㅜ

Now that one year has passed all the swelling is gone and everything seems to have settled down. There is nothing uncomfortable regarding daily activity and the scar under my ear disappeared long ago (though it feels a little hard when you touch it). The scars inside my mouth (along the gumline) are still there but it’s okay since it’s not visible. Because a possible side effect of facial contouring surgery is sagging skin, I’ve started to concentrate on skin elasticity treatments. Now I can take selfies at any angle! >.< Before surgery, I also hated tucking my hair behind my ears but now when I take passport photos I can tuck my hair behind my ears without any embarrassment ^^ I am so happy! Before surgery, I had so many worries, but now that I’ve done it I realize it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be and the outcome is so, so worth it! ^^
